Volunteer in Fort Worth
A world of thanks.
Simply put, we owe our volunteers the world. Our programs would not be as successful as they are without their dedicated support. At the same time, our volunteers experience things with us that they couldn’t find anywhere else, learning new skills, making friends, developing interests and enjoying the rewards of being involved in something bigger.
Program support volunteers work with Sister Cities youth programs to prepare materials, facilitate group learning activities and encourage relationship building between students who may be from different countries and speak different languages. They offer assistance by supplementing transportation, helping with translation and photographing programs to create a legacy for others to experience. It is through the dedication of volunteers that our programs and exchanges are successful, many of which have garnered national awards.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
City Committees
Each sister city has a committee that meets quarterly to plan events having to do with that city/country or prepare for an incoming group coming from that sister city. Our sister cities are Bandung, Indonesia; Budapest, Hungary; Guiyang, China; Mbabane, Eswatini; Nagaoka, Japan; Nîmes, France; Reggio Emilia, Italy; Toluca, Mexico; and Trier, Germany. To be added to a city committee, contact Beth Weibel.
Home Hosting
Many of our international visitors stay in homes so they can truly experience Texas and US culture. The time commitment can be as short as a weekend or as long as a few weeks, depending on the program. Weekday activities are usually planned for the visitors. Day Hosting
If you can’t commit to home hosting, you can still interact with our international visitors by accompanying them to their daily activities and ensuring their program runs smoothly. To find out more, contact Beth Weibel.
Event Planning/Assistance
Two major events are held annually to support the organization: the Annual Meeting and the Mayor’s International Dinner. Duties include help with set up, greeting guests, selling raffle tickets, etc. To find out more, contact Courtney Garvey.
