Delegation leaders serve as lead teachers for youth traveling to our Sister Cities. Individuals selected for this role are responsible for:

• Ensuring culturally enriched and safe international exchanges for students.
• Preparing students for international travel.
• Teaching proper protocol.
• Instructing students on how to share their own culture while abroad.

Delegation leaders play a key role in the success of student exchanges by preparing the students to be good citizen diplomats as they represent their city, state and country. Prior to exchanges, delegation leaders conduct cultural orientations to prepare the students, including packing tips, basic language practice, team building exercises and guidelines for living with host families.

Delegation leaders are chosen through an interview process conducted each October for travel the following year.
