Tanaka is an executive committee member of the Ohgenkai Art League and a member of the Japanese Artist Association. When she was a teenager, she was chosen to be a model for the Girl Scouts Friendship statue in Yokohama along with Nagaoka Chair and Fort Worthian Libby Watson.
